OPTIMUM OFFERS ADBLUE AUDIT FOLLOWING ITS APPOINTMENT BY YARA INDUSTRIAL AS UK DISTRIBUTOR FOR AIR1 IN THE BUS & COACH INDUSTRY
Fuel management and lubrication specialist Optimum Oils has signed a distribution agreement with Europe’s largest manufacturer of AdBlue to supply a comprehensive product and service package to the bus and coach industry, for new vehicles fitted with ‘Euro 4’ diesel engines.
Optimum director Malcolm Hollingsworth says the agreement with Yara Industrial covers the supply of its Air1 reagent and the installation of bunded storage facilities ranging from a 1000-litre IBC suitable for a up to six vehicles, to a 9000-litre tank with integral pump that can service bus and coach fleets of fifty-plus.
Explaining the significance of Air1 to Optimum’s business he says: “We are already working with a number of major bus operators to help formulate their Euro 4 engine strategies and prepare for the new lubrication and maintenance regimes required, so Air1 is an important addition to our portfolio, both as a product and a service.”
He adds that Air1 complements two of Optimum’s key services: the ‘Fuel Managed Service’, which combines the supply of fuel with professional, outsourced fuel stock management; and the lubrication service, which includes lubricant supply, oil monitoring and waste disposal.
To prepare bus and coach operators for their Euro 4 engine deliveries, which begin in October, Optimum is offering an AdBlue Audit that will assess the operational requirements for their fleets and recommend appropriate storage facilities, dispensing arrangements, etc.
Finance and leasing arrangements are available and customers can opt for the stock monitoring service to ensure they never run out.
Commenting for Yara Industrial, Paul Norman says Optimum’s experience in the bus and coach industry makes it an ideal distributor partner for Air1 and for operators whose vehicle engines use the secondary catalyst reduction (SCR) solution to meet the latest EU targets for the reduction of emissions.
He adds that Yara has already signed agreements with a number of UK bus manufacturers and vehicle suppliers, including first-fill in Euro 4/SCR equipped vehicles, and emphasises that bus and coach operators adopting the AdBlue solution can expect a smooth transition to Euro 5 when it is introduced in 2009.
