AWARD-WINNING BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS ADVERTISING, PRESS RELATIONS & MARKETING

MARY GANNON DESIGN – A COMPANY PROFILE

Chelsea-based Mary Gannon Design (formerly Lusardi Design Associates) has been specialising in bespoke residential and light commercial interior design commissions since the company was founded in 2005.

As well as its very personal approach, the company combines the disciplines of architecture, distinctive interior design, and complete project management from the experience gained on commissions as diverse as a show apartment from Harrods of Knightsbridge to a contemporary residential space commission in conjunction with award-winning architect Toh Shimazaki. Other commissions include the design and refurbishment of a number of period properties in Chelsea and Notting Hill and an executive apartment in Lagos, Nigeria.

Within twelve months of forming the business, the company was invited by the Royal Armouries to tender for the refurbishment of a prestigious apartment in the grounds of the Tower of London. Following a rigorous tendering process involving ten other design companies, the company’s proposal was accepted and phase one of the project began.

Commenting on winning the tender, Mary Gannon believes that clients are looking for a complete interior design service from qualified and experienced individuals that can offer a discreet, no-nonsense approach.

This is confirmed by Claire Harder of the Royal Armouries who says: “I would not hesitate to work with Lusardi Design Associates again, and we are in fact, already discussing further projects for 2007 and 2008.”

Mary joined Harrods as a management trainee after gaining a BA Honours degree in Art and History of Art. Her degree and experience while at Harrods stimulated an interest in both traditional and contemporary interiors. So whilst continuing to develop essential retail skills she began studying interior design at KLC School of Design, Chelsea Harbour.

After acquiring her design qualifications, Mary, now an active member of the British Interior Design Association, spent the next five years working with Harrods’ most senior interior designer in the company’s own studio. There, she was jointly responsible for projects such as a five-storey ‘Arts & Crafts’ house at Chenye Walk.
