NEW FOR OLD FULTON AT PRINCE CHARLES HOSPITAL
Fulton Boiler Works has supplied a pre-fabricated plant room consisting of two 15J gas-fired steam boilers to North Glamorgan NHS Trust for the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.
The plant room, which is housed in a bespoke steel enclosure and constructed to the PM5 standard at Fulton’s factory in Bristol, is being used to provide a constant source of steam for the hospitals kitchen dishwashers and two autoclaves in its Pathology department. It also provides a steam supply to the Pharmacy aseptic suite’s HVAC system.
The new plant room features two 15J steam boilers, water softeners, feed water pumps and condensate return tank and has replaced two 20 year-old Fulton 15E steam boilers, which were housed in a small boiler room within the kitchen department. These have now been removed and the new plant room located away from the main hospital building to comply with health and safety legislation.
Commenting for the Prince Charles Hospital and North Glamorgan NHS Trust, Estates Officer Alun Evans stated: “The hospital’s previous 15E boilers proved to be so reliable and easy to maintain that we had no hesitation in specifying Fulton again. Even though we purchased the equipment direct, Fulton was happy to work closely with our M&E contractor JW&E Morris on the installation.”
Explaining the advantages of specifying a pre-fabricated plant room from Fulton, sales and marketing director Gordon Bareham says that years of sales and service experience, and investment in the latest CAD software, means that Fulton has the ability to take overall responsibility for the design, manufacture and delivery of a turnkey project; as well as providing the all important after sales support.
